Originally built in 1865 for the Estate Manager of 800-year-old Ashford Castle, our elegant white-washed Lodge has views to rival the best in the world. Windows frame inspiring vistas out over placid Lough Corrib, one of Ireland’s largest lakes, backed by the rolling, emerald hills of Connemara.
The Lodge offers country house charm, fine dining in Wilde’s Restaurant and an exceptional collection of estate activities. This is one of Ireland’s finest wedding destinations, pairing warm Irish hospitality with a modern appeal.

Our herb and gooseberry garden provides fresh seasonal ingredients to our kitchen, headed by Executive Chef Martin Halls, who has incorporated vegan, vegetarian, and healthy options within his menus.
We offer a range of beauty and relaxation specialists that can provide in-room therapies, such as massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, and facials. Our Concierge can also provide you with a yoga mat and accompanying DVD.
We are delighted to offer our guests the chance to maximise their fitness goals whilst staying with us at The Montague by installing 2 Peloton Bikes in our fitness room. Choose from a range of classes between 5 and 90 minutes long and enjoy an immersive cardio experience tailored to your music taste, difficulty levels, and goals.
The Gardens are home to 20,000 of the Bloomsbury Bees, a joint venture between the hotel and Bedford Estates. They’re helping us do our bit when it comes to improving the biodiversity and sustainability of the local ecosystem.
