Our award-winning Beach Bar at The Montague on the Gardens is an unforgettable summer party venue. Complete with real sand, a beach-hut style thatched roof, delicious cocktails, palm trees, and a backdrop of a beautiful beach, you'll feel like you're basking in the Bahamas rather than in the heart of Central London.


Share your snaps using the hashtag #SurfMontague. To get you in the summertime spirit our chef serves a delicious range of BBQ options including meat, fish, and vegetarian/vegan dishes followed by a tasty line-up of tempting desserts including assorted ice creams in cones. Cocktails are served in coconuts on arrival, alongside a superb selection of wine, beers, and spirits. Guests also have the added option of unlimited drinks offers.


Our flexible spaces can accommodate parties of up to 160 guests and the Great Russell Suite is available afterwards for DJ and dancing into the night, complete with a built-in dance floor and private bar.

Booking information

The Beach Bar is for exclusive hire or for hotel residents only. We unfortunately cannot take reservations for individual guests unless you are a hotel resident. Public walk-ins may be available on the day but are subject to availability.

  • Daytime slot – 12pm - 5pm
  • Evening slot – 6pm - 10pm (Afterparty options are available in the Great Russell Suite until 12am)

Please enquire with our team if you require a longer session. June, July, and September are our peak months and the minimum spend varies depending on the date booked.

Black tie event? Our staff will be dressed in lifeguard-themed uniforms (white shirts & red shorts) however, if this does not suit the theme of your event, we will be more than happy to wear waistcoats/suits at no extra charge.
