We have been diligent in measuring our carbon footprint. The hotel has switched to LED bulbs, introduced paperless check-in, and introduced energy-saving methods in guest rooms.
We place a great significance on using premium, locally sourced products, two examples are our partnership with Meantime Brewing Company and Beefeater Gin.
The Montague hosts MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences, which directly advance the United Nations Global Goals. 40% of the proceedings from our Bee and Honey Masterclass go to the Bees for Development charity.
Our employees regularly volunteer for causes with our partnerships including Bees for Development and Single Homeless Project.
Our animal and wildlife experiences comply with the TTC Animal Welfare Policy by 2021. We are proud to produce our own honey.
We strive to #MakeTravelMatter
We are continuing our efforts to phase out single-use plastics in 2022 and reducing our food waste in partnership with Winnow. We also help to support the local community as well as a variety of initiatives, and together with The TreadRight Foundation, we strive to MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® (a registered trademark of the TreadRight Foundation).Discover The TreadRight Foundation

As part of a joint venture with Bedford Estates, we have installed beehives in the leafy enclave of Montague Street Gardens. The hives are home to over 20,000 bees that play an important role in supporting the surrounding ecosystem, as well as providing the beautifully fragrant local honey served at the hotel.
You can learn more about beekeeping and the role bees play at our hotel on our MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience.
