Terms & Conditions

  • All enquiries are considered and then recorded as a provisional booking whilst guides are contacted and confirmed. Once a guide is confirmed we will contact you to finalise your booking and send you payment details.
  • In case of a cancellation of the tour and accommodation included, the hotel accommodation cost will be subject to the cancellation policy in line with the rate plan booked.
  • The cost of £950 is due in full two weeks prior to the date of the experience, or upon booking confirmation if less than two weeks prior to the event.
  • While The British Museum endeavours to keep all major galleries open and to accommodate your needs, we regret that it may be necessary, for example, in the interests of security or public safety, for us to alter the Museum’s opening hours or close specific areas of the Museum at any time and without prior notice. The British Museum is not able to guarantee that the gallery or galleries relevant to a tour will be open at the times and dates you require. The British Museum reserves the right to alter the arrangements of a tour from those advertised without notice to you and/ or to cancel your booking in accordance with these terms and conditions
  • A request by you to cancel or amend a booking must be made by email to traveltrade@britishmuseum.org at least 14 days prior to the date of the tour. Your email should include details of the change or cancellation requested. Any requested changes are subject to availability.
  • Provided that you cancel a confirmed tour in accordance with the above The British Museum will refund you the fee paid in full.
  • If your tour is due to take place in less than 14 days it will not be possible to change or cancel your booking and you will not be entitled to a refund in part or whole in any circumstances.
  • If The British Museum has to cancel a booked tour they will endeavour to give you 14 days' prior written notice. However,  occasionally The British Museum may have to cancel or change the time or date of a booked tour on less than 14 days' notice and we reserve the right to cancel or amend any tour booking, without prior notice, at our discretion.
  • If The British Museum cancels or amends a booking they will endeavour to re-organise the tour by offering an alternative date and/ or time which you may elect to accept. If you do not elect to accept any alternative date and/or time offered, or no alternative date and/ or time is offered to you, you will be entitled to a full refund of the fee which you paid.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, other than our reimbursement in accordance with these terms and conditions, The British Museum will not reimburse or be liable to you in any circumstances for any other costs incurred by you in connection with a booking which has been cancelled or amended by us including but not limited to the cost of your travel to The British Museum.
